LEATHER SOURCE

Leather is the heart of every bag we make, so we choose it with care.

Our main line uses vegetable-tanned leather from Italy, which is known for its high quality and durability. The process takes around 40 days, using natural tannins to transform raw cow hides into leather. The result is a natural material that develops character over time.

All of our leather is sourced through trusted British suppliers. What matters most to us is how the leather performs in real life — how it feels in your hands, how it wears with use, and how well it stands up to everyday life.

Some designs require extra crafting. When the leather arrives at our studio, it undergoes a unique, entirely handcrafted process that delivers style, quality, and personality unlike anything that you have seen.

ddmmyyyy was founded a decade ago in a tiny bedroom in Hong Kong. With a mere 2 sq.meters of space, Yvonne embarked on the journey in the world of leathercraft. Despite the limitations, the tiny working space became the breeding ground for our design philosophy, focusing on simplicity, artistry, and impeccable craftsmanship.

The significant move to Edinburgh marked a new chapter for our brand. With the upgrade in space and equipment, we are able to unleash our creativity. Despite the geographical shift, our commitment to simplicity and artistry remains at the core of ddmmyyyy. Our designs continue to embody the essence of minimalism, while showcasing the meticulous attention to detail that defines our craftsmanship.
